💻 Data Breach

Break into the system floor by floor by picking doors. No hints are given — and the doors behind you keep locking.

Trial and error, with no clues

Each floor has several doors and only some lead upward. There is no hint at all — no number, no colour, no sound. Your first pass through a floor is necessarily a guess.

What the game actually asks for is memory: once you have missed a door you know it is not that one, and it is that accumulated information that makes the second attempt worth more than the first. People who take mental notes climb; people who guess again in the same place do not.

The rule that creates the race

The connecting doors below the lowest floor anyone is still on keep locking. As the group climbs, the way back disappears behind everyone.

That stops the match from dragging with somebody stuck at the bottom and, more importantly, it kills the strategy of standing still while everyone else maps the building for you. The floor below is not a safe place — it is a place that is about to vanish.

What a floor looks like

Each floor is a row of identical doors. You pick one; if it leads up, the transition happens and you are on the next floor. If it does not, you stay where you were — and now you know one door fewer.

There is no enemy, no per-floor timer and no way to lose other than arriving last. The whole game is the tension of watching someone else's progress bar climb while you are still testing the same floor.

Reaching the core

Whoever reaches the top first wins, and starts a final countdown for the rest — the podium is arrival order, then who climbed highest. Finishing second still counts, so there is no reason to give up when someone escapes.
