Every pump is a point and a risk
On your turn you pump as many times as you like. Each pump scores a point. When you want, you pass. But there is a secret limit: if your pump is the one that reaches it, the bomb explodes and you are the loser of the match.
The limit is drawn on the server, sits between 16 and 26, and is never sent to anyone. There is no way to discover it by reading the game's code or the network traffic.
The arithmetic you can actually do
The counter of total pumps is public. That is what you play with:
- Below 16 there is no risk at all. Pumping up to there is free — and anyone who does not pump is simply giving points away.
- From 16 on, every pump carries a chance of blowing that climbs with each number, because the remaining range shrinks.
- At 26 the explosion is certain. If the table reaches that, whoever has the turn has no way out.
So the match has two distinct phases: a painless race up to 16, and then a game of chicken where each extra point is worth less than it costs.
What your place in the queue does
The order is drawn each match. Whoever plays right after someone who stopped at 22 inherits a nearly-full bomb and effectively has no choice — passing without pumping is legitimate and sometimes the only move.
That is why stopping early inside the danger zone is an offensive play: you are not only protecting yourself, you are pushing the decision onto the next person.
