🖌️ Zone Control

Walk to paint the floor in your colour — and you can paint over everyone else's. Most area in thirty seconds wins.

You paint where you walk

The arena is a 12×9 grid. Each player starts in a corner and paints the square they step on. Thirty seconds later, whoever has the most squares in their colour wins.

And the central point: painting over works. Walking across an opponent's square takes it. There is no protection and no fixed territory.

The decision is where to walk, not how fast

Because painting over is worth exactly the same as painting virgin ground, there are two opposite strategies and both work:

Invading is worth more when somebody is ahead; expanding is worth more in the first seconds, while there is still free ground. The last five seconds are almost always invasion.

Hammering the controls does not help

There is a minimum interval between steps. Pressing faster than that does not move you faster — what the match charges for is the route, not the cadence.

Against the bot

The bot walks at random, but with a strong bias: it prefers squares that are not already its own. In practice that makes it reasonable at expanding and terrible at deciding who to attack — it never chases the leader.
